Wordpress Theme Sale
As many of you know, I’m trying to expand my web design portfolio at the moment.
I’m working on some pretty heavy Rails stuff and it’s nice to have a break and do some more creative work, so here’s the idea:
I’m going to start selling my services as a “Wordpress themer”, I’ve done quite a few of them now and I’m confident and knowledgeable in how the theme works and what is required.
Firstly pricing: £100 … It’s as simple as that.
What do you get for your money?
A bespoke Wordpress theme made to your custom specifications, exactly as you want it. If you have a design in mind then I can turn your ideas into a theme, or if your not sure what you want I can draw from sites and influences that you like to create the theme.
Once completed and tested, it will take between two and three days to complete, I’ll help you deploy it to your blog and set everything up properly with a collection of the best plugins as well if you wish.
I will then handover the copyright to you. That’s right, you will be the only one in the world with that theme, something which could cost you upwards of £1000 from a big design agency.

Sadly enough I don’t even have £50 to spare, but if I did, I’d buy it and release under a public license. Would you mind if someone did that?

No I wouldn’t mind doing that at all, in fact I’ve been thinking about doing some to release to the public myself, but I jsut don’t have the time at the moment.

I am only just starting to get my head round PHP and the whole WP theme stuff after migrating from Blogger a while back.
Maybe you should release a few “good” themes for free to showcase your ideas/designs/skills. That will bring in more people to the site for starters! Get it listed on the WP Codex site too.
Have you thought about using services such as Ether?
I never got my full Beta login for that - but its a good idea.

If I had £50 I would probably get one, although considering i’m a designer it would be a bit hypocritical..
Also how come on here (just above) it says there are 5 comments with actually only 4?

I will make an example free theme, although it might not be for a couple weeks, I’ve got some much on and yet I seem to be getting very little done.
Frustrating is not the word!
