Teabass refreshed

Saturday, October 21st, 2006

As you might have noticed Teabass has a new theme. I’ve been meaning to update the style here for a month or so but never got round to it. I’ve gone for quite a simple style with moving too far away from the old phoenixblue theme.

I’ve had a number of people say that it is too simple or boring, I guess if you compare it to the previous one it does look a little empty but give it time. The content area is a little wider and more elastic than before so I’ll have to try and write my posts in a slightly different manner.

I have a few little tweaks to add still, the page menu will be moved up into the grey bar in the header and the sidebar is now widget powered. If anyone has any good widget suggestions I’d love to hear them.

Work has been pretty cool this past week, investigating the mobile web and microformats as well as managing to completely wreck my work pc with a corrupt download of Ubuntu!

We have a target release date of 8th January 2007 and I think we’ll need a few testers for the week before that. I’m still not allowed to say too much… *cough* video *cough*

Until next time… keep watching the skies

  1. Thats what happens when you download ubuntu using bittorrent.

I have about 60 or so Ubuntu and Kubuntu CDs lying around, and i keep getting more. I give away about twenty per week! My entire town runs on ubuntu (save the people who use photoshop).

I like watching videos if you need any video watchers.

  4. The new theme looks OK, personally it is much easir on the eye than the last one was, well thats my opinion anyway. Nice, I like it, even if nobody else does.

  8. More content is all that really matters! This theme is much easier on the eyes and shows off the content very well.

  10. Its so funny to see Darkplace back, I saw it on Channel 4 in a late slot, ages and ages ago now - at first I couldn’t quite tell if it was real lol Great stuff :)

  11. I’m glad most of you like the new theme :)

Darkplace is without a doubt my favourite British TV show, and it just came out on DVD, time to re-live the magic!

In regards to testing, I think we’ll be needing people towards the end of december/start of january and then obviously you can start spreading the word once it’s launched.

Lack of posts at Teabass is due mainly to the lack of stuff I’ve been doing, but I have a ton of useful links to post later.

  14. Shocking as it may seem, I have not actually tested this theme in any kind of IE yet, i developed it entirely on a mac and have not got round to checking.

I’m pretty shocked that IE7 doesn’t support max-width, microsoft fail again, I guess we’ll have to wait another 5 years to see if they can get their act together for IE8?
