iPhoneApple TV

So the keynote was yesterday and Steve announced some very nice products. Before the show I was expecting to melt my credit card with loads of great purchases and be drooling and waiting with baited breath for new hardware and software to come in stock… but no!

The iPhone: Looks frickin’ awesome, except for the fact it won’t be available in the UK for at least a year.. damn

Apple TV: Again looks very cool (although I’m sure a mini mac would be just as good, if not better when hooked straight up to your TV) but there is no point in me getting one; I don’t have a TV and the only video available on the UK iTunes store are a bunch of 2 minute shorts.

So a bit of a let down for me, although I’m sure everyone in america is gushing like a school girl, just don’t rub it in too much.

Oh and btw, what happened to Leopard?

  1. My guess on Leopard would be they are trying to avoid comparisons with Vista - they would be bound to happen if they mentioned it just because of Vista’s close release date.

I don’t think they are neccersarily trying to avoid comparisons because they don’t think they’d win them but to avoid giving Vista any press time.

Today it was pretty much all apple in the news and MS hardly got a look in.

BTW, i have a mini review with lots of details about the iPhone on my blog.

  2. I am impressed by both really!

The iPhone looks very sexy and cool and if AppleTV can be hacked to run divx…. well…

Its not often (ever?) you see someone like Nokia or Motorola get front page of the UK Times with a story about their new phone/pda product!

  3. I’m so annoyed I don’t have a job right now!

Looking forward to seeing more about this stuff.

Good theory on why Leopard hasn’t been mentioned much peteremcc.
