Teabass is still on the back burner at the moment, I’m using it to just keep friends and family informed on every thats going on, especially good news like:
I passed my driving test!!!
I actually had the same examiner that failed me over 3 years ago. He seemed a lot happier today and it showed, I felt more relaxed, drove better and didn’t do anything to make him worry. 6 minor faults overall and the license is in the mail.
Combining that result with receiving my degree with honors and getting the new job I’m pretty damn chuffed this week.
Oh and one last thing..
I sold my PC. The Beast, my computer for the last 4 years is gone. Although it has not gone far, my dad snapped it up after I moaned so much about his pentium 2 machine being too slow and useless.
I learnt pretty much everything I know about computers by messing around and upgrading the Beast, it feels like I’ve said goodbye to an old friend.
This means… Yep, I’m all apple now.
Well, only because the only computer I have is the Macbook
I think I’m used to it enough now that I can do everything I need to on OSX; design, coding and web stuff all works great. I need to increase the ram, and thanks to my new work PC (for Ultra High-end gaming), I can survive without the Beast.
In other news, my Dad has a flickr account, mainly for photos of his cars and garage (and half of them taken by me!) making him one of my oldest flickr contacts, just beating Mike
It seems this blog is getting more and more about me and not much else, so how about some user interaction?
I’m in the market for a new mobile phone, I want something I can sync with my macbook and I’d really like to be able to use it as a modem via bluetooth as well. Don’t care about any camera or mp3 or kitchen sink features I’ll never use, just a simple, reliable and strong phone.
Any suggestions?
Or alternatives for getting online without wifi?
My ipod is also on the way out, do i wait for the apple phone (will it ever come?) or get a new shuffle?

Hey there, sounds like things are definitely gooing well for you!
I use a K750i as my phone, and its compact, fast, powerful, and it does have a very decent 2mpx camera. It syncs the address book and calendar via iSync on OS X without any extra configuration or anything, so it should do just what you need.

The iPhone should be announced at macworld in january.
I have a blog about it at upcomingipod.com
It’s probably going to be renamed soon, as soon as we get a c&d letter from apple telling us they own “pod”.
Otherwise i think its cool that you can get around without your pc. I tried for a while on my powerbook g4, but it was impossible to use without an external mouse. (the trackpad is too slow for me when i’m using Xcode, Dreamweaver, or photoshop or something of the like)
Make sure to reboot your macbook once in a while cause it really will start to run slowly after about three or four weeks.
Also, i heard that it extends the battery life of the macbook if you completely discharge it once per month. I’m not sure if it was for the macbook tho, it may have been the ipod…

Good tip with the battery Daniel, I think that goes for most things with these types of batteries, as its a bit like ‘exercising’ them and keeps them running optimally.
I’m going to add you as a contact to my own blog if you don’t mind, get some Apple news from across the pond.

As it happens my macbook gets shut down every night and turned back on in the morning, I’ve become quite enviromentally friendly with my computing since moving to london.
I’m the only one who shuts down my pc over night at work!
Ryan: is this your phone?

My new SE K510i will not sync with my MacBook apart from using Bluetooth to transfer pics, sounds, videos etc.
Shame.
Reboot my MacBook?
Mine only ever gets rebooted after a system software update!
