Bad Week

Friday, August 11th, 2006

It’s not been the best of weeks for me.

On Wednesday I said goodbye to Lauren as she got on her train for the last time. Unfortunately we have had to split, the distance between us, about 40 miles, was becoming an increasing problem.

Lauren will be starting a full time art course in September and with my workload increasing all the time as much as we both didn’t want it, there was really no other way to be together.

I think I speak for both of us when I say we are both hurting from it now, but we remain good friends. Lauren has been my best friend for the past nine months or so, treating me better than any other girlfriend I have ever had and just being the most wonderful girl I have ever met.

So that sucks.

And just to top it off I managed to fail my driving test today as well. I think it was more of a case of bad luck and a difficult examiner, both my instructor and I felt pretty confident about my driving and I did well on every other section of the test.

The actual part I failed on, I didn’t expect to be a major part of the test. The examiner asked me to pull up and park at the side of a busy main road three times within 5 minutes.

This was something I had not expected or practiced for, so I was a little surprised and acted rashly. When the examiner asked me to pull up the section time it was opposite a road junction (not a safe place to pull up), I realized this after I started to slow down, so I pulled forward a bit more and that failed me.

Nothing I can do about it, except learn from my mistake and book myself another driving test.

So there you have it, a pretty crappy week by anyone’s standards.

But I’m still alive, and ready for hopefully great things next week.

AndrewOnRails.com is going well, 20 subscribers within two days and Teabass looks a bit nicer too.

  2. It has been a crappy one, but it’s almost over.

Its been a couple hours since I wrote that and I’m not feeling quite so sorry for myself now.

Looking forward to next week, finishing up a few of my designs and find out if I’ll be working with some of the clients I’ve been talking to over the past couple weeks.

  7. […] I look back at how bloody awful last month was, everything seemed to be working against me. It’s funny how everything can switch, when you’ve got a good thing going for you every crisis seems like an opportunity. I’m a very up and down kind of person. […]
