I found this little program thru Filehippo, it is designed to replace paint in windows xp, using the .net 2.0 framework.
For a free program this is excellent, i find myself using it instead of photoshop for many more simple things as it loads up quicker and does most of the things i need from an image editor.

Another Demo i downloaded the other day was Toca Race Driver 3.
Toca Race Driver 2 is one of the few games i have acutally bought for the pc, along with Colin McRae 2005 and Halflife 2, and i absoultely love it, when i heard there would be a 3rd i was very excited.
I’ve been watching this one for a while, and the demo is excellent. The damage is amazing and the gameplay is superb, although i have onyl been playing it with a keyboard, once i get back to plymouth in the new year, i’ll try it out with my modded xbox pad. I did find that the normal difficulty was very easy tho, setting it to about 80% provided a do-able challenge, and hard was to hard with a keyboard.
The graphics have been improved a lot from the last one with a lot more detail and effects, but suprisingly my “old” 9800 pro didnt have a problem with it, i could run it at almost top settings at 1600×1200.
I’m definatly going to buy this one when it comes out.

Yesterday the Alpha Release of Goldeneye: Source was released, i only found out about it today and downloaded it straight away.
Goldeneye on the N64 has been my all time favourite game for as long as i can remember, the 4-way multiplayer especially, and now its being made as a mod for the Halflife 2 Source Engine.
I played the alpha for about an hour today, and really enjoyed it, its much more arcadey than day of defeat of counterstrike, but that comes from the makers trying to copy the N64 verison and it works great, its still pretty buggy and there are only a few levels and weapons but i think it will be a big hit, the music is perfectly recreated and the game play is frantic, although i think 14 players on some of the maps makes it a bit to hectic at times, and getting used to playing without a crosshair again is strange and different to every other First person game out there.
I’m going to keep my eye on this one, the beta is sceduled for september, but i’m sure there will be updates before then.
So i had a fair bit of christmas money yesterday, and i needed to buy a few things… so today i kinda did!

The G5 should improve my gaming a bit, and make a nice addition to my G15 keyboard, which turned up last week.

Kinda forgot about my blog with all the craziness of xmas, but its all over now and i’m starting my new years resolution early. I’m going to try and blog something everyday, unless i really have nothing to say!
I really havnt felt in the xmas mood at all this year, even yesterday with all the present opening, i still didnt feel that same excitement that i used to, and then mum said “Your growing up, christmas isnt as exciting anymore, get used to it”, kinda made me think that i prolly wouldnt celebrate it at all if it wasnt for my family, but i’d still want to get everyone presents.
The TV was rubbish again, hardly watched anything apart from a bit of simpsons.
Present wise i got a hammock and sweets from dad, slippers and pants from mum and money from everyone!!

Kinda forgotten about my project for a couple weeks as well, prolly wont get started on it again until the new year.
And… Laurens coming to see me in 3 days!! Shes staying for new years eve and going back afterwards, ionly saw her on friday but i miss her incredibly.
